Most of you are probably familiar with Chickasabogue Park. Many of us have spent time at the park’s swimming hole and ridden its many trails. Now it appears the park may be getting a facelift.

According to WKRG News 5, Mobile County Commissioners have authorized funding to develop a plan for renovations for two local parks, with Chickasabogue being one of them. They cited the park’s large size and natural beauty that make it a unique attraction in Mobile County. The county hopes to have a master plan completed by the end of the year.

As County Commissioners work to develop a plan, they are looking for public input as well. A survey can be found here. Only one survey per household can be filled out, and you must be at least 16 years of age to participate.

Chickasabogue Park covers 1100 acres and is located in Eight Mile, Alabama. Aside from beaches and bike trails, the park also contains boat launches, disc golf courses, and a museum. The park was donated to the county by Scott Paper Company in 1969.
