As the unofficial start of summer begins this weekend, I am starting a new series of reviews for summertime activities. Most of the reviews will be kid-friendly destinations, as that is what I will mostly be venturing to as I have two children to keep entertained. Today I am featuring my Pete’s Party Castle review.

The family and I recently took a trip to Pete’s, which is located at 2040 Schillinger Rd. My son graduated from kindergarten, and we wanted to take him to do something fun after the ceremony. My kids had never been to this venue, so we figured they would enjoy something new.

How much does Pete’s Party Castle cost?

All right, let’s start with the important details first. Admission to Pete’s Party Castle is $3 per child under 13. They waive the admission fee if you spend $10 on food or coins for the arcade. Parents get in free.

We opted to buy $10 in coins total, so one of our children got in free, but we had to pay $3 for the other. They played for about an hour and a half. Thirteen dollars is well worth an hour and a half of entertainment.

What is there to do at Pete’s Party Castle?

Pete’s Party Castle is similar to Chuck E. Cheese. It has a bunch of arcade games and a play area. The arcade games are operated by a card you tap on a screen on the front of the game. You win tickets based on how you score in the game. There are no physical tickets though, they are stored on the same card that holds your tokens.

The kids enjoyed the games. After we ran through the tokens they were begging for more. I found the games to be a little better than the ones at Chuck E. Cheese, but pretty similar. There is enough variety to keep your kids entertained for about an hour.

The play area is what sets Pete’s Party Castle apart from Chuck E. Cheese. The mouse house got rid of its ball pit play area years ago. While Pete’s doesn’t have a ball pit, it does have a huge slide and climbing play area, along with some smaller toys for toddlers. This is where my kids spent most of their time.

Fitting with the overall theme of the venue, the play area is designed to look like a castle. There is even a cute dragon perched on top in which the kids can look out of its mouth to the seating area below. It was neat, and the kids loved it.

Does Pete’s Party Castle have food?

Pete's Ole Grille

Aside from fun and games, Pete’s also has a little restaurant with plenty of seating. The menu features pizza, burgers, tenders, and a host of other items. You can check out their full menu here.

We didn’t sample the food this time, as we had stopped for lunch before going to Pete’s. I did scope out some of the pizzas left sitting on a table, and they looked pretty good.

Pete’s has party packages available as well. There is a minimum party count of 6 children, and a cost of $17.99 per child. You can find more details here.

The Verdict

Pete’s Party Castle was a fun experience for my children. As soon as we got home they were begging to go back. As a parent, I found the place to be safe and clean. It was easy to find, and easy to get in and out of. On a busy road like Schillingers, that is always a plus.

We will definitely be taking our kids back. Pete’s is fun and affordable, and that is a winning combination for any parent. If you are looking for something to do with your kids this summer, give Pete’s Party Castle a try.
