President Trump has been named the grand marshal of the Daytona 500. He is the second sitting president to attend the race, but the first to be honored as grand marshal. The race starts tomorrow at 1:30 PM and will air on Fox.

President Trump has a history with Nascar. He rode in a race car with former Daytona 500 winner Mario Andretti on the Apprentice. He awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to racing legend Roger Penske last October. Trump has also invited previous Nascar Cup Series champions to the White House.

While having the president attend an event is a great honor, it comes with complications. Security is already tight for a big event like the Daytona 500, but it goes to another level when the president comes to town. The FAA has issued flight restrictions, and the Secret Service has banned drones from flying within 30 miles of the track.

The president is riding high following his acquittal in his impeachment trial. His approval rating at the end of January stood at 49%, which is the highest of his presidency. That is good news for him with the general election just 9 months away.
