Tropical Storm Dorian has formed in the central Atlantic. As of the 5:00 PM update, Dorian was a minimal tropical storm with 45 mph winds. The storm is moving west at 12 mph.
Dorian is located 725 miles east-southeast of Barbados. It should reach the Carribean Sea sometime next week. We are too far out to know whether or not it will move into the Gulf of Mexico or travel up the east coast.
As of now, Dorian is expected to become a hurricane. If the storm were to approach our area, it would be more than a week away. It is something we must keep an eye on, but not something that needs to be acted upon as of yet.
