Dorian Grows To Category 4 Storm

Hurricane Dorian has grown to a powerful Category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph. Dorian has begun to slow down but is expected to begin affecting the Bahamas tonight. Hurricane Warnings are in effect for much of the northern Bahamas.

Dorian’s projected path has shifted east, and Florida may avoid a direct impact. Meteorologists now believe the storm may turn north before striking the sunshine state. However, Florida will still feel the effects of Dorian, including heavy rains, winds, and storm surge. Those on the east coast of Florida should remain vigilant.

With Florida possibly avoiding a direct impact, those living in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina must now be on high alert. Depending on the severity of Dorian’s northerly turn, any of these states could take a direct hit. With the storm slowing down, it is expected to be near Georgia and South Carolina by the middle of next week.
