A Mobile woman was robbed after trying to purchase an old phone through the “LetGo” app. After meeting up with the seller and making the exchange, the man snatched the phone back from her. As he fled the scene, the suspect attempted to run over the victim.
Police are urging citizens to utilize Internet Purchase Safe Exchange Zones when buying and selling items off the internet. There are six such sites in Mobile, which are listed below. Saraland also has a safe exchange in the police station parking lot.

With resale sites on the rise, particularly on Facebook, people are buying and selling to each other more than ever. The rise in direct sales will inevitably lead to more robberies. Safe exchange zones typically have cameras trained on them, so any potential crime will be recorded.
