The University of Mobile tops the rankings of small colleges in Alabama according to ranking website Niche. UM had the 22nd best campus and 28th best dorms in the country. The dorms were also ranked best in the state.
The university was also cited for its food, where it ranked 3rd best in the state behind the University of Alabama and Auburn University. UM was one of the safest colleges in the state as well, ranking 4th in safety.
The University of Mobile was established in 1961 and is located in Prichard, Alabama. The private university is Baptist-affiliated and has an enrollment of around 1,600 students. Dr. Lonnie Burnett is the current president of the university.
