A call from a concerned neighbor brought Sheriff’s Deputies to the 6000 block of Lott Road Tuesday night. Upon arriving they were confronted by 66-year old Terrance Edward White. He shined a flashlight on the deputies and opened fire.

Deputies were forced to return fire and White was killed in the altercation. None of the deputies were hurt in the shootout.

Fox 10 News reports that neighbors claim White was acting erratically following an argument. Family members say he had recently been experiencing mental problems. Deputies attempted to talk him down when they arrived on the scene, but at some point, White escalated the situation and began firing on deputies.

The investigation is ongoing.
