Mobile County and the surrounding area will be under a heat advisory until 7:00 PM tonight. Highs are expected to reach the mid to upper 90s today, with heat indexes going into triple digits. There is only a 20% chance of rain, so there will be little relief from the heat today.
Next week brings more of the same. Highs will climb into the 90s all week, and rain chances will remain low. Summer may be winding down, but the heat is not backing down yet.
Those who have to work in the heat should take precautions. Take frequent breaks if possible, and drink plenty of fluids. One should take shelter or seek medical attention at the first signs of heat exhaustion.
