The boat launch at Bayou Sara in Saraland had to be closed yesterday due to flooding. Heavy rains in the northern part of the state have made their way through the river system to the delta. Cliff’s landing faced a similar problem earlier this week.

One local told NBC 15 News the water was as high as he had ever seen it. The water has risen above the retaining wall.

With rain in the forecast for the next few days, flooding will remain a concern. There is a 50% chance of showers starting at 3:00 PM today. Weather.com gives us a 100% chance of rain on Thursday. We are currently under a River Flood Warning until further notice.

Boaters that find a way on to the rivers should exercise extreme caution. Flooding waters can dislodge downed trees and other debris, making the riverways dangerous. High water also covers threats that would otherwise be visible.
