Saraland has a lot of fried chicken restaurants. Some would argue too many. However, I’m not here to debate that today. Instead, I’m going to list the 5 best chicken restaurants in Saraland. I hope no one gets too offended.
Popeyes
Popeyes barely makes the top 5. A year ago, it wouldn’t be on the list. The emergence of their copycat Chic-fil-a chicken sandwich has propelled them past KFC for the time being. They also opened a sparkling new location near Publix which helps their cause. Their position is tenuous, so if they expect to be here next year, that might be counting their chickens before they hatch.
Foosackly’s
Foosackly’s isn’t just one of the most popular chicken joints in Saraland, it’s one of the most popular restaurants period. Their fast service and affordable pricing have made them a big hit. To me, their chicken tenders are only average. Despite that, I find myself eating there a lot just like everyone else. Maybe it’s the sauces? Whatever the case, they’ve earned their spot in the top 5 and arent’ going anywhere anytime soon.
Goldfingers
Goldfingers doesn’t get the press some of the other members of this list do, but they have quietly done a pretty good job. They have a decent amount of menu options, with tenders, wings, and sandwiches. Their entry into the chicken sandwich war of 2019 with a cat meme was a nice touch. Bonus points to you Goldfingers.
Zaxbys
Zaxbys is a relative newcomer to Saraland. Located in the growing hotspot around Publix, Zaxbys offers a slightly more robust menu similar to Goldfingers. They have a number of tasty sandwiches such as the Caribbean Jerk, Kicken Chicken, and Zaxby’s Club. Oh, and there drink machine is straight out of the future.
Hart’s
Hart’s Fried Chicken is a local staple. There is usually a line, and you usually have to wait, but it is totally worth it. The chicken usually comes out fresh, and it is always delicious. I’m a fan of the spicy tenders myself. Paired with tater tots, baked beans, and a roll, you can’t beat it. In my opinion, Hart’s offers the best fried chicken in town.
