Citronelle High School is in mourning today following the tragic loss of one of its teachers. Geoffrey Dylan Turner was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash. He was 26 years old. A male passenger was taken to University Hospital by Life Flight to be treated for his injuries.

Mr. Turner taught math at Citronelle High School. The school will have a school-wide assembly this morning to address the situation. They have asked local clergy and counselors to be on hand.

The accident occurred on Lott Road near Gulf Crest Road. According to the police, Mr. Turner’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The cause of the accident is unknown at this point.

Mr. Turner was beloved in the community. Numerous students recalled him as their favorite teacher. There was a great outpouring of support for him on social media as the news broke.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Turner’s friends, family, and students.
